Forfuck sake get a set of decent winter tries, doesn't really matter if your car is AWD or not if you run shity "no season" tires. Volvos AWD system (in the newer cars, 2003/04+) is Haldex AWD systems which are pretty good although it mostly runs in FWD, basically the car engages the rear axel (up to 50/50 split) when it feel like it is needed.

20225 S60 T8 here. 100% upgrade the tires. The electric motor on the rear wheels has instant torque and is totally unlike driving an ICE vehicle. The T8 also favors the rear since the electric motor powers the rear wheels. The tires you have on the car are not good for cold, and especially bad for cold and snow.
